BlueFeild State Logo Redesign
This logo design began as an in-class challenge to redesign and improve an existing logo from our professor's portfolio. I was tasked with the athletic mascot for Bluefield State University (BSU), West Virginia. Research began by identifying local West Virginian wildlife that would both be iconic and distinct, as well as correspond well with Bluefield State.
Within recent years, Bluefield State decided to build dormitories to combat low enrolment and maintain its presence as a historical institution. From this, the beaver was selected due to its versatility to develop and defend its home while being a fierce opponent to its predators.

In addition, an original typeface was developed for the athletic numbers and wordmark that mimics tree trunks widdled down by beavers.

AIGA Flux Student Design Competition
Flux is a nationwide competition that recognizes outstanding design work produced by students in the categories of Identity, Packaging, Poster, Publication, Social Impact Design, UX/UI, and Video/Motion Graphics. 186 projects were selected by a jury of creative professionals out of 809 submissions.
